Fee Refund Policy

Abacus Institute Of Studies > Fee Refund Policy

The amount of refund depends on the course length (period of enrolment) and on the period between the start of the course and the application for withdrawal.

This is summarized in the following table:

Fee Refund Policy

  • In instances where a course is being cancelled, the Institute shall arrange for a full refund of fees paid by the students.
  • In the event that a course is cancelled part way through due to unforeseen circumstance (including course closure / regulatory closure), a proportional refund of fees paid will be given.

Fee Protection

Abacus Institute of Studies has an agreement with Public Trust, which acts as a trustee to protect students’ fees by holding the fee amount in a trust account, transferring a pro-rated monthly amount over to the institute. This protects all students’ fees against the unlikely event of insolvency, regulatory closure or withdrawal of accreditation of the college. This is a New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) approved method of fee protection.
