Our campus is situated in a Wakefield Avenue of Auckland. Students can enjoy the modern educational facilities at Abacus Institute of Studies. Recreational facilities, theatre, cafe and restaurants are all within a short distance from the institute. Our students have the opportunity to study in a peaceful and serene atmosphere. Auckland is New Zealand’s largest city with around 1.4 million inhabitants, which is 32 percent of the
country’s population and its metropolitan area covers 559 km2. Auckland has the largest Polynesian
population of any city in the world and in Maori, its name is Tamaki Makaurau.
Auckland lies between the Hauraki Gulf of the Pacific Ocean to the east, the low Hunua Ranges
to the southeast, the Manukau Harbour to the southwest, and the Waitakere Ranges and smaller
ranges to the west and northwest. The central part of the urban area occupies a narrow isthmus between the Manukau Harbour on the Tasman Sea and the Waitemata Harbour on the Pacific Ocean.
Because of the fact that Auckland is surrounded by water it is often referred to as ‘the city of sails’.
In 2011 the Mercer Quality of Life survey ranked Auckland 3rd equal in its world ratings.
The Abacus Auckland campus is situated in a central location in the Central Business District and is
just 2 minutes’ walk from the central library and other big city amenities such as multiplex cinemas,
theatres, shopping malls, pubs, clubs and restaurants. The campus is situated on the 5th floor of
a modern building offering superb views of the city and includes spacious classrooms as well as a
students’ kitchenette and computing suite.
